After we moved to the country, I noticed my conversations with my city friends seemed to put them off balance for a while. My mother identified the syndrome right away. My priorities and values seemed to have change, for the better, and I seemed to be more relaxed, focused and comfortable in my life. It was when I was telling my sister about installing solar panels, that I saw it. We were focused on becoming more in touch with the land, looking for ways to be independent of external resources, talking about the advantages of passive solar panels versus active. Oh my gosh!
